Payment methods
Get paid with Mercado Pago, Stripe, bank transfer or cash, and offer a discount per payment method.
Settings › Payment methods is where you choose how customers pay you. Several can be on at once: at checkout the customer picks one.
Mercado Pago
- In Settings › Payment methods, under MercadoPago, click Connect with Mercado Pago.
- Sign in with the Mercado Pago account you want to get paid into and authorize the connection.
- Back in the admin you’ll see Connected to Mercado Pago. Customers pay by card, account balance and Mercado Pago’s other methods, and the order is marked Paid only when Mercado Pago confirms the payment.
Stripe (cards)
- In Settings › Payment methods click Connect Stripe.
- Complete your Stripe account sign-up and come back to the admin.
- Card payments are confirmed automatically. Stripe is available depending on your store’s country.
Bank transfer
- Turn on Bank transfer.
- Enter your details: Bank name, Account holder and your account number (in Argentina, the 22-digit CBU / CVU and its Alias).
- Customers see these details when they finish the purchase and in their order email.
- Once the transfer arrives, open the order and click Mark as paid.
Cash
- Turn on Cash payment.
- In Settings › Shipping methods, under Cash payments by delivery method, choose which ways of delivery accept cash: store pickup, home delivery, meeting points or arranged delivery.
- When you collect the money, open the order and click Mark as paid.
Discount per payment method
On each method, Add discount for this payment method lets you offer a percentage off (for example, 10% when paying by bank transfer). With Round prices based on amount, the total lands on a round number. Customers see the discount as soon as they choose that method at checkout.
Common problems
- The CBU / CVU won’t save: it must be exactly 22 valid digits. Copy it from your online banking.
- Mercado Pago doesn’t show at checkout: check it reads Connected to Mercado Pago and that the method is on.
- A Mercado Pago order stayed Pending: the customer didn’t finish paying or the payment is under review; it updates on its own once Mercado Pago approves it.
- Cash doesn’t show at checkout: the delivery method the customer chose doesn’t accept cash (check Cash payments by delivery method).
